EXMORTEM: In Mixing Mode
May 14, 2008EXMORTEM, which is said to be "probably Denmark's oldest and most loyal death metal band," has issued the following update:
"The new album is done and is right now being mixed by Jacob Bredahl (HATESPHERE, LAST MILE),who is doing everything he can to make sure this will be one smelly, wet, sleazy fist in your face.
"It looks like the new 'trend' is saying that your are going to avoid the very clinical/perfect/trigger sound, but one thing is saying it, another is actually doing it! This album will be raw, ugly and powerfull as a fucking nuclear bomb.
"The band is right now hard at work making the visuals that can match the sound and atmosphere created in the studio."
EXMORTEM's new CD will feature the following tracks:
01. Funeral Phantom
02. Black Opium
03. Fixed In Slime
04. The Vultures Gather
05. Anger Trumpet Blow
06. A View To A Death In The Morning
07. Slow Death Regimes
08. Salvation
09. Conquisitor
10. For the Grave Of History
11. Souls Of Tyrants
A summer release via Mighty Music is expected.
The band previously described the new material as "nothing short of unique in its own dark and morbid way. The material will include almost CELTIC FROST/ENTOMBED-like slow songs, more mid-paced 'Blessed Are The Sick'-sounding [MORBID ANGEL] tracks, and not to forget a bunch of fast and extreme tunes to spice up the symphony."
EXMORTEM 2008 lineup:
Martin Thim: Guitar
Simon Petersen: Vocals
Andreas Schubert: Guitar
